MADZIX Group Companies (MGC) (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black owned holding company; it is a parent corporation of all companies branded under MADZIX®. MGC (Pty) Ltd is registered in South Africa with eight (8) subsidiary proprietary limited companies (abbreviated as “(Pty) Ltd”).
This is achieved through the following pillars:
The MGC (Pty) Ltd companies provide specialized services to support agriculture food systems, land, and water resources management. Services will gradually move from specialized offerings in these three areas to other sectors through dedicated MGC (Pty) Ltd entities. The exception is MADZIX® Management Solutions (Pty) Ltd that will provide internal administrative support to the rest of the MGC (Pty) Ltd entities; this support will in time be broadened to provide administrative and project management services to external parties.
MGC (Pty) Ltd is a holding company for these entities:

Overall, the business approach is to start small, leveraging the skills and experience of the owner and associated individuals and partners. Associated partners are individuals and organizations working in a similar space. MGC (Pty) Ltd became operational in January 2019 and is expected to reach maturity in three (3) years. The anticipated growth path has four stages, namely Nascent, Emerging, Consolidating and Maturity:
This is the beginning phase of organizational development. General characteristics of a start-up are: few individuals involved; not much history; generally, very small; and not yet stable. Start-up activities include: (i) ensuring that all MGC Pty (Ltd) entities are compliant and ready to trade; (ii) establishing organizational systems and processes; (iii) engaging in a publicity drive (e.g. branding, website); (iv) cultivating relationships and fostering partnerships at individual and organizational level; (v) screening opportunities and bidding; and (vi) undergoing business incubation and mentoring programmes.
This stage, also called the developing stage, will be characterized by rapid growth, high energy and many activities. Time will be spent establishing the service delivery side of the organization. Administrative functions might lag because of the rapid growth rate. High levels of learning necessitated by the rapid growth and documentation will be harnessed. This stage also includes more aggressive initiatives of targeted screening of opportunities and bidding.
This stage is characterized by continued high quality service delivery and intensified focus on the other five areas of organizational development. It is a time when the learning of the developing phase is incorporated into the organization - perfecting the skills of “doing it” and “doing it well” (i.e. focusing on what works where, how and under what circumstances). Consolidating will include (i) delivery of quality services to customer satisfaction; (ii) deepening of business relationships and partnerships; and (iii) deliberate differentiation and specialized service offerings.
This will happen when MGC Pty (Ltd) entities are trusted and are service providers of choice. It is a time when the learning of the developing phase is incorporated into the organization for continuous improvement and innovation. A mature organization can move into this mode when it attempts a new area of focus or enters a new geographical area: (i) spreading service offerings to other geographic areas beyond the borders of South Africa; and (ii) providing generic services beyond agriculture to other sectors.
In each of the first three years, an organizational self-assessment will be done using a four-point scale with 1 (one) indicating a low or poor level of development and 4 (four) representing a very advanced level of performance. After three years, this assessment will be done biennially.

The organizational design of MGC (Pty) Ltd brings together different service providers for a common goal. MGC (Pty) Ltd is unifying them under a common identity and institutional arrangement, both formally and informally. All entities under MGC (Pty) Ltd have similar branding, contracting schemes, policy arrangements and rules of the game which include regulations, norms, beliefs, values and behaviours.
MGC (Pty) Ltd will not produce goods and services itself; rather, its purpose is to own shares of each of the MADZIX® branded companies to form a cooperate group. However, MGC (Pty) Ltd will have limited liability to its subsidiary companies and vice versa, as they are all (Pty) Ltd in their own right. For a similar look and feel, the MADZIX® logo, which will be trademarked, is the marketing name to ensure common identity and/or branding across all the related MGC (Pty) Ltd entities.
