Mr Talentus Mthunzi

Mr Talentus Mthunzi is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist with experience in regional project design, indicator development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation. He has worked in a number of development projects that include PRIZE, a USAID funded project in Zimbabwe as a Value Chain Development Officer, Marketing and Village Savings and Lending and a Team Leader for ORAP/Catholic Relief Services. Mr Mthunzi has supported the coordination of Household Vulnerability Assessments and Partner Institute Viability in FANRPAN member countries using the Household Assets Vulnerability Assessment (HAVA) and Partner Institute Viability Assessment (PIVA) tools respectively. He has managed and monitored Africa-wide Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Postharvest Management Research and Policy Advocacy projects funded by FAO, NORAD, ACBF, CORAF/WECARD, IDRC and SDC.

Mr Mthunzi has delivered CSA presentations at different forums at national, continental and global levels. He has also organised and facilitated national and regional policy dialogues. He participates in regional and global climate change events including the UNFCCC CoP, conducted trainings in Monitoring and Evaluation and Climate Change Leadership and Policy Advocacy and facilitated the development of agricultural value chains and markets with rural communities. He successfully managed the COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite programme on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and he is the focal point person for the Global Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance and the Alliance for Climate Smart Agriculture in Africa at FANRPAN. He sits on steering committees for both Alliances. Mr Mthunzi has also published work he authored or co-authored. His qualifications include:
